Wednesday Update
Hi Friends and Family!
Hope everyone is going well, I can't believe I'm writing in blog number 30! That's 30 weeks of news! [yep, you are welcome ha]. I know that not EVERY blog is going to be exciting but do know that I am thinking about all of your guys, awww :]
I miss camp just as much as you do, even though I live here. It's totally different without the campers, totally!
Anyway, this past weekend was a BLAST. We hosted the AIL World Championships, which I mentioned in the last blog. It was fantastic. I uploaded some photos on the twitter and I will make sure to put some on the blog [don't think they would fit well on the gymnastics myspace ha]. We had contests all day Saturday with over 175 inline athletes and Sunday hosted the Elite and Pro division with over $3000 worth of prize money, awesomeee! Their goal was to qualify for the Pro World Championships in Las Vegas, which is THIS weekend and guess what? I'm going! If you place in the top 10, then you can qualify in the Pro Division, it's a little tricky to figure out but I'm learning!
And yes, I am super excited about VEGAS! Love my job.
I also started coaching recreation gymnastic classes at Woodward West that are organized through the Stallion Springs Community Center. I'm coaching 4 classes and have over 40 kids signed up. Richie is also teaching Inline.
We both love being able to give back to the community. So great!
The 2010 Brochure is in round THREE of edits and should be making its way to the printers soon. It's looks fantastic and I am so pleased with it!
Got to run, need to walk the dog and get ready for GYMNASTICS!
Talk soon,
Linnea
Any questions, just ask<3

Thursday Update
Hi friends and family,
Happy Thursday! I know, I know, you are probably thinking, Hey Linnea, you are suppose to blog every Wednesday and you are a day late. It's true, and you are totally right. So I apologize, yesterday got busy and THEN [drum roll please] we lost Internet. It was devastating to say the least. It was really my fault, then. Blame Mister Internet and his sneaky, lazy ways.
Back to camp, let's see what's been happening.
Oh, remember the last blog about BMX Pros Ryan, Mark, and Coco? Well they all went to Orlando for the last stop of the Dew Tour and they ALL did great. I swear, Woodward IS the best facility to train. Coco who had been working on flair-whips on the Vert Resi for the last 2 weeks put one on his run during prelims and just barely landed it. But in the finals, he pulled it out and landed it perfectly, as 1 commentator said, it was smooth as butter. Congrats to Coco! Mark, who is competing in his first Dew Tour made it to the podium for the first time in Park with 3rd place, to Daniel Dhers [2nd] and Ryan [1st]. Ryan competed in the Dirt and Park; he took first in overall Dew Dirt and first place at the Park contest. Amazing! Love it!
So I was in San Diego for the past weekend and missed out on camplife. Andy was here to oversee the Arizona Cheer Train-away and brought in coaches Charlie Tamayo and David to help coach, what a GREAT team of coaches!
This weekend is the AIL World Championships, AIL stands for Amateur Inline League. It's an event that is put on by our own, Richie and Pam. Pretty cool, huh? There are over 165 inline competitors. Good luck to everyone competing!
Action campers: Don't forget to sign up for Winter Camp. We already have 78 campers enrolled.
That's all I got for now, talk soon.
Love,
Linnea

Wednesday Update
Hey all.
Hope everyone is having a fantastic Wednesday. It's raining here in Tehachapi and it's chilly. Fall is definitely here. It must have rained last night too because when I woke up to walk Juno this morning, it smelt like rain. It was lovely.
This past week was also pretty mellow. Since the last of the Dew Tour stops in this weekend in Orlando, we had an array of visiting pros using the Hanger 18 as their training grounds. BMX pros Ryan Nyquist, Mark Webb, Coco Zurita, Cory "Nasty" Nastazio, and others were shredding the hanger all weekend, pretty fun to watch. It was like my personal Dew Tour stop ha. I wish them all the best of luck this weekend [keep your eye for them this weekend, it should be on TV]
Other than watching the hanger, I have been working on the Gym and Cheer mailing list, adding and updating gyms and contact information. It is actually a very boring task but I want to make sure that EVERYONE has heard of Woodward West! We will be doing a mailing soon so ask your coaches if you have received anything from Woodward, if you haven't let me know so I can get you on our mailing list.
I am headed to San Diego for the weekend, which I am VERY excited to see my family! Woo!
So, what's everyone doing for Halloween?
I might be in Vegas for an Inline contest. Pumped.
Also, Richie competed in a contest in Ohio and WON! How awesome!!!

GO RICHIE! :]
I'll try to upload some more photos, chat soon friends.
Love,
Linnea

Good morning
Hey, guess what?!
Woodward West can sponsor your meet and you could win a FREE week to camp in 2010. Pretty exciting, huh?
Here how it works:
If your gym is hosting a meet or even an open house, or some sort of event, depending on the number of athletes and spectators, we can mail you x-amount of brochures, plus the 2010 Woodward gym Ad for the meet program or brochure, and a web logo, if needed and then, for YOU helping us with telling people about Woodward West, we can donate a free week or 2 partial discounted weeks [like $400 off] to the meet for your gym to raffle off and raise money... for those new leotards or a new mat, or maybe just a fun event for the team.
Get on it and be the gym hero!
Talk to your coaches, parents, or booster club President.
Good luck :]
Love,
Linnea

September Recap
Hey Woodward friends and family,
Hope everyone is doing well. It has been just over a month since summer camp 'doing fine in 09' ended. It has seriously taken me that entire month to accept the fact that new smiling faces will not be arriving every Sunday. It's so strange, I was really bummed. Camp is just not camp with YOU [the camper], promise. But we stayed busy, of course.
But first, before I forget:
Please answer this ONE questions for the Woodward Newsletter, VAULT

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY FROM CAMP IN 2009?
Thank you.
Now back to business:
Summer Camp 'doing fine in 09' was pretty much my favorite summer. It was amazing, so many new faces and old faces and everyone just seemed so happy and stoked to BE at camp. I loved it.
I'll give you a little teaser of what has happened since camp ended but not too much since they will be in the Woodward newsletter, VAULT, coming out soon...
The first weekend after camp, we had the PC Magic All-Star Cheerleading team and their coaches, which was over 200 people. It felt like camp but without the action sport athletes. It was a ton of fun; there was swimming, canteen fun, and lots of cheerleading.
The second weekend we had the Region 2 T&T Training Camp, with over 230 athletes and coaches. We had bowling, canteen fun [RUSTY SLUSHIES!], and of course, where Foam-Tag started at Woodward West, a FOAM TAG tournament with Andy and the Gym Jerks, who won.. of course :]
The next weekend we had the Region 1 Boys Select Team and CSU Fullerton Women's Gymnastics Team, followed by the UCLA Women's Gymnastics Team, and a gym train-away with KT's All-Star Gymnastics and Cheer Team.
Busy, right?
This past weekend, which was the FIRST weekend where we didn't have a gym event, I went to Las Vegas to attend the Final Selection competition at the Cashman Center for T&T. The top athletes in Double Mini, Trampoline, and Rod Floor [power tumbling] qualified for the Worlds, in Russia. It was amazing to watch and I left some Woodward West brochures at the meet. It was so cool to see familiar faces; I'm pretty sure it's my favorite thing about my job. I love seeing campers who remember me and are actually excited to see. There is nothing better.
Hands down.
As you can see, we have been busy. Serious busy, but I love it.
I will always Myspace Blog on Wednesdays [myspace.com/woodwardwestgymnastics] but look for daily updates on this BLOG or twitter.com/woodwardwest

Linnea
Ps. It feels to good to be back on the Interweb. I've missed you all<3333
